Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Diversity drives high-performance and makes us better. We know that when we bring different people, ideas, backgrounds, opinions and skills to the table, and embrace our differences – we create a creative, innovative and high-performing culture.
When everyone feels safe and empowered to bring their very best – that’s when we spark innovation. We’re working to foster an inclusive workplace where every member of our team is respected and feels that they can achieve their full potential.
Our diversity, equity and inclusion action plan
Meaningful, enduring change requires action. Our diversity, equity and inclusion action plan guides our commitment and encourages continued progress and sustainment. Our actions to inclusion include:
- Attract, hire and retain diverse talent
- Educate, train and deepen understanding
- Establish accountability for inclusion
- Foster and celebrate a culture of belonging
- Set enterprise-wide diversity goals
- Invest in inclusive communities
- Diversify our supply chain
- Reinforce a non-discriminatory, equitable, accessible and respectful work environment
Creating a culture of inclusion
Here are just some of the ways we’re fostering inclusion at the company:
- We expanded our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Executive Council to include leader representation from every area of our business, helping foster a culture of inclusion, acceptance and belonging at all levels of the organization.
- Our extensive network of volunteer Inclusion Champions are “on the ground” change agents for their business area who work with the DEI Executive Council.
- We established a Women in Leadership Network at TC Energy to create connection and community and support mentorship and sponsorship opportunities.
- We established an Indigenous Advisory Council in 2021 to learn from Indigenous leaders representing Indigenous interests across Canada and continue to advance reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples as outlined in our 2022 Reconciliation Action Plan Update.
- We launched four employee-led Employee Inclusion Networks focused on 2SLGBTQIA+, women, Indigenous Peoples and Veterans to encourage connection around shared values and identities and amplify underrepresented voices.
- We provide annual training on unconscious bias and inclusive behaviours and offer regular development opportunities for further education and training.

Accessibility
As we build a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace, we strive to continuously improve accessibility by listening to feedback from our employees and other stakeholders and regularly reviewing our programs to ensure everyone can fully interact with our company without barriers. We respect the core principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity and are committed to ensuring that employees, applicants and customers with disabilities receive accessible services with the same quality and timeliness that others do.

Vets add value
The future of energy is full of potential and opportunities. This is why we embrace the diverse perspectives that military veterans and active service members bring to the workplace.
We recognize that military veterans who bring qualities such as discipline, dependability, adaptability, initiative, courage, problem-solving, leadership and so much more make valuable contributions to our business. We’re proud to offer flexibility to employees who continue to serve in military roles, including military leave when they need time away from work for their duties.
At TC Energy, you can put your skills and experiences towards addressing some of the most challenging energy problems our world is facing.
We also recognize that veterans sometimes need support in their civilian lives. As part of our commitment to our communities, we offer assistance to veterans through several charitable organizations and local programs such as:
- In Canada, we support
- In the U.S., we support
- Dress for Success Houston (Veteran’s Program)
- Paws4People
- West Virginia Gold Star Mothers
- Vietnam Veterans of America NE SD Chapter 1054
- Disabled American Veterans Milbank SD Chapter 19
- Veterans of Foreign Wars National Home for Children
- Umonhon Veterans Association
- Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation
